The Lycée Louis Armand is located in the upper part of Chambéry on the foothills of the pre-alps of Savoy.

It is made up two educationnal establishments.

A compréhensive School : (1200 pupils)

• Literary options.
• Scientific options.
• Technical options such as :
  • Car maintenance.
  • Laboratory technology.
  • Electronics.

  These options consist in a 3 year course leading to the baccalauréat which enables students to go to university or any institutions for higher education or else to stay in the same school to get a qualified technician certificate after a 2 year course in the following branches :

  • Water treatement.
  • Car maintenance et after sales treatement.

Un vocational school (350 pupils) offering the following options :

• Car maintenance.
• Body repair work and paintworks.
• Lorry driving and road transport services.
• Health and home economics .
• Builing maintenance and cleanup.
• Water treatement.
• Manufacturing techniques.

  After a 2 year course, students get a vocational certificate (either a Brevet d'étude Professionnel BEP or a Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnel CAP.

  Some work experience in industry and business to prepare them for active life.
  (BEP or a Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnel.)

Apprentice Training Center

An apprentice Training Center is also attached to the Lycée enabling students to get qualifications in hair-dressing and sales techniques.

During the school year, most students get some work experience in industry and business to prepare them for active life.

The lycee takes in boarders. Moreover, artistic and cultural activities are offered to students.
